Ball joint endcap

Hi all

I picked up my chassis last week - got the rear axle completely fitted.
Silly me - When I ordered all the spares for my axles I ordered rebuild kits for the bottom ball joints only to find the donor had a newer type sealed unit on the other side. OOPS
Has anybody got an old style bottom ball joint end cap they don`t want?
It`s got to be worth a few beer tokens

Re: Ball joint endcap

Thanks guys

It`s just 1 end cap I need (with the 4 bolts if possible)
They are not handed as far as I know both sides are the same
It`s part number 19 here...

I could probably pick up from Donnington if either of you are going
If not - I will obviously cover postage

Thanks
Paul

paul

I have four bolts as well as the end cap.
I can either post them to you (cost about 2.5 euro ) or I will almost certainly be going to donnington.
Cheers

Rich

Donnington will be fine thanks
I am back home in Holland now and my chassis is in the UK so I can`t do anything with it until I come back over in September.
I will email you nearer the time.

Thanks again

If your wishbones have had sealed joints fitted, then the steel collar that the older style rubber dust guard fits onto, will have been knocked out. Hopefully they might come in your recon kit.
If not you will have to buy new ones as its almost imposible to remove them intact, as the rust fairy has been on overtime with them

You`ve lost me here - which steel collar is this?
Item number 20 on the following page is the same as the rebuild kits I have.......

Re: Ball joint endcap

paul,

It is descibed as 'ballpin spigot' under item 20. It is a metal collar that fits in the top of the large hole in the hub carrier upright, that the ball joint sits in. Then the rubber dust guard goes over the ball pin and is clipped to this collar.
