Big Block 428 or Small Block 390?

I'm looking at starting to source the parts for my own project while I continue to build the next two (if all goes to plan).

What are peoples opinions on the above engines, does anybody have a 390?

Any pointers appreciated.

Is that using the 390 bored out?

If so that's got to be my option. Will look similar to BB just smaller

I'm not sure I'd have to check but it probably will be based on on 390 or 400.
I reckon 427 has to be the way to go, just so's it matches th side badges.
All the cubes wthout the Big block weight. :thumb:

Re: Big Block 428 or Small Block 390?

It can be done in either Chevy or Ford, the Ford would be based on a Windsor.
From what I can tell the Chevy is based on a Motown block.

"Next two" Is ther something you're not telling me???????
Do I have a new competitor????
What about one of these if you want to be really flash?
Shelby 427 block stroked to 482. safe to say over 500 HP and torque.:-}

BTW. Dax don't make headers for these so you'd have to sort out your own.

Re: Big Block 428 or Small Block 390?

Dave,

Sadly I'm no competitor, I just thought about getting the bits and pieces ready to complete 2 cars but would have to sell one to finance the next

That would do nicely Dave, I'd have to source the headers from the same guy who made yours

Seriously though, where did that engine come from?

Make sure you are sitting down cos you are looking at around £15K+ for engine and box with all bells and whistles delivered.
