Black magnum at the Kent meet - question

Noticed that the boot hinges were internal although they looked like they were mounted using the traditional 3 bolt holes used by externals. All that was showing was three chrome allen bolts per side.

Are these off the shelf hinges from magnum or have I (as per usual) got this completely arse upwards!

Cheers

Re: Black magnum at the Kent meet - question

Don't know but it looked cool... disappointingly small engine though for such a mean looking car...

Re: Black magnum at the Kent meet - question

Hi Smash,

Didn't get to talk to you the other day at Sevenoaks.
The car originally had boot hinges but at a later date I had some hidden hinges made up by Mike Broad at Magnum. The quickest way of filling the holes at the time was with stainless fasteners. Iv'e just not got around to filling the boot lid holes yet & painting it.

As for you Robin 427, since when has a 302 V8 been a small engine ? ? It's not highly tuned yet but give me time. Even in it's constrained standard cast iron head mode it's not to sad ! !

All the best for now

Re: Black magnum at the Kent meet - question

I admit by conventional car standards, a 302 is not small, but by Cobra standards, 350 seems to be the minimum. I though such a great looking car would have a supercharged 383 with nitrous or something...

Re: Black magnum at the Kent meet - question

Thanx Dodger - like your style Sounds like internal hinges are 'fun' to sort at the least....

Robin - I dunno, I think my 289 goes pretty well *ahem* (considering it has agricultural tyres - get that in before gwak/splitpin do!).
You have seen the performance stats for the low geared 289 cobs I take it? http://www.thecarsource.com/shelby/speeds.html - CHEVY SCHMEVY!!

Re: Black magnum at the Kent meet - question

I know the 289 is a swift little beast, no flies on that one, good off road as well
But I think you need some vertical pipes to finish the Massey Ferguson look :thumb:

Yep Cheng's work
