Scam Emails through the Classifieds

Guys & Girls

If you have an ad in the classifieds, and someone sends am email overpaying for the goods, and asking you to send the difference back, the best thing to do is delete the email and ignore it.

This is a well known scam and you will never see your goods or money again, and the western union money order they send you will be fake.

Alternatievly, get them to send you the western union money order or cheque, and then when it has been checked out and confirmed as fake, mail it to me and I will scan it in and display it up on the site saying Scammers not welcome.

Just be careful guys, its a jungle out there. :thumb: :thumb: :thumb:

Hello ,

Thanks for your mail.I really hope it is in a good
condition because that's the most important thing tome
now. I will take it for the £6250. I have a reliable
and trusted shipping company to do the pickup for me.

The cheque will be sent to you by my client who lives
in the UK and he is owing me £13,000 so I decided to
use the money to buy it from you, as the cheque is
cleared you will deduct your £6250 and another £100
for any expenses you might incure in cashing the
cheque and do me a favour by sending the remaining
balance of the fund to my shipping agent for the
shipment via WESTERN UNION MONEY TRANSFER.They have
other goods they are bringing in for me.

Hope I can entrust the cheque in your hands. Please
send me the following information so that the cheque
can get to you asap.

NAME ON THE CHEQUE
MAILLING ADDRESS
CITY
STATE
CODE
CEL L AND LANDLINE NUMBER

All this information is needed from you,so as for me
to contact my associate to send you the cheque and
once you get the cheque you will deduct your own part
and send the remaining balance to the shipping for the
pick up at your place. You may also send the pics of
it along.I will be expecting to read from you.ASAP.
Regards to your family..........

Re: Scam Emails through the Classifieds

I was in fits of laughter yesterday evening after receiving an email from some scam artist who said, and I quote, "I am very interested to buy your advert", and then proceeded to ask me how much I wanted for it!

Now, there's a thing. The car has generated so much interested that even the advert itself is wanted.

ROFLMAO

Do they think we were born yesterday?

'HI, WE ARE INTRESETEDIN THE ABOVE MENTION ITEM LISTED ON .PLEASE GET BACK TO ME WITH RECENT PICTURES AND YOUR LAST ASKING PRICE. THANK YOU.

Henry Combs

Jackson coroporate international Ltd.

Sale Director'

from "jacksoncorporateltd@slidemail.com"

Note the bad grammer, punctuation and spelling. Also, he is a 'sale director' single not plural!
Hmmm, what goes through these peoples minds. "I know, lets pretend we are a limited company. Not big enough. What about corporate limited? No, still bigger. OK Corporate International Limited-that should do it.

Phuckers!!

Re: Scam Emails through the Classifieds

I too had one of these a while back, to be honest I was tempted to accept just to get my hands on one of the cheques only trouble is then they know where you live.

Just give them a wide berth in the future. :finger: :finger:

Re: Scam Emails through the Classifieds

When I sold my Audi S6 to build my Cobra I got a reply to my ad on the Dax site (I was trying to find somebody interested in a swap for a cobra). A shame I don't still have the email, but basically they wanted to send a cheque and have me ship the car to Dubai! I gave them the address of my (U.K) bank, and they sent a cheque. I was asking for £12000. Got a call from the bank, they had spelt my name wrong on the cheque, oh and the amount...........................$59000! Obviously after that they never returned my emails, I still have the cheque! couldn't work out what they were trying to achieve, they never asked for the difference to be sent back.
In case this happens to you the cheque was from 'the peoples state bank' clyde Texas.
Eventually sold the Audi on ebay.
