| Jag Speedo Sensor Hello all you wonderful people, I've done some digging and would quite like to use my jag speedo sensor, since theres a hole in the diff already just waiting for one. The problem is mine is FUBAR as the greebo that removed it from the car did so with a lump hammer. Having spoken to Jaguar i would need to sell the GD to be able to afford a replacement one... I heard stories a while back about some of you removing it, covering with a blanking plate and dropping the sensor on a shelf in a dark corner of the garage. Will that man step forward and claim a negotiable prize in exchange for a second hand jag speedo widget?!

| Re: Jag Speedo Sensor 'I must admit that I'm not familiar with a speedo sensor going in the diff' FYI : XJS, cast Al cover, below the breather. 10 pulses per wheel rev, picked up from either a machined 'castlation' on the RH half of the PL unit or from the later, cost reduced, pressed on steel version of the same. Pick-up is the same as the one used on XJ40 - but on XJ40 it mounts to a cast Al bracket which positions it to pick up off a pressed ring mounted on the (LH?) output shaft. Russ |

| Re: Jag Speedo Sensor I've now spoken to Ed at Wards and he's (hopefully) got one on a shelf somewhere at a fraction of a fraction of the price of a new jag one. Now all i need to work out is what flavour it is. ( i suppose it can't be reed & magnet) Russ cheers for the mail, i'll have a play tonight and try and check my current / resistance if i can get to what wire i have left. (Kev, they do exist, and i've got one. See thread Fuel pipe routing )

| Re: Jag Speedo Sensor If it's any help (coz I was late this morning and forgot to pick one up on the way out the house) the Jag sensor has two/three wires. One red, one blue and a braided earth shield. I can do some multimeter continuity tests tonight, it's just easier to see small signals on an oscilloscope (and I've got variable power supplies at work). Russ |

| Re: Jag Speedo Sensor John, I will be in Bath on Friday for the beer festival. If you're around i'll give you a ring and we can negotiate a price. I dont suppose you have one of the brake line 't' pieces, as attached to the front and rear subframes, going spare as well do you? Cheers Adrian
