More brake problems!!!! Hello Guy's, After finding problems with my brakes (previous thread)...I removed the front callipers..taking out thepistons..eventually!!!..fitting new seals...re-fitting and bleeding again....and the same thing happens....back brakes are good...but nothing to the front. The master cylinder is dual type (marina i think)..brand new .( although the new one is not identical to the old one...the old one has a 'sleeve' at the rear of the unit for the servo 'rod' to slide into..the one i have only has a 'dished cup'....would this account for the fronts not working?? Also..silly question....I take it that at the front of the cylinder...the 'front' outlet goes to the front brakes....and the 'rear' goes to the rear brakes??....(well i thought i would ask!!)....also the outlets are different sizes......should i have used different size pipes?? At the last resort....i shall remove the servo/master cylinder and replace....does anyone know what system would 'bolt' straight on. thanks in anticipation for your help. cheers...steve

Re: More brake problems!!!! Thanks for the quick reply martin.....the front hoses are new goodridge hoses...but never had fluid in till last week.....i suppose its worth changing them as course of action........any other ideas guys...please??

Re: More brake problems!!!! I doubt if both hoses are the problem. Either you have not managed to bleed them effectively or there is something weird happening at the master cylinder. Presumably pressure is getting to the front brakes if they bled. May be worth having a pressure check done on them.. Mike.

Re: More brake problems!!!! now i had a problem the first time i fitted my mini cooper master cylinder with servo, most mini's are the top or the front outlet (depending what master cylinder they had ) was the front, but after probs i found a mini cooper or 1986 on manual and guess what the front outlet was the rear, now it think its a problem with your master cylinder, how did you bleed them up if there is no front brakes ?

Re: More brake problems!!!! Hi Martin, First of all...used the pressure bleed (easibleed..works off air from tyre)...went round all 4 corners untill fluid was coming out of bleed nipple....then bled each corner again in traditional way..again..untill fluid came out of bleed nipple.( I did find that the pedal travel 'felt' different between the fronts to the rears!!!!) There was a 'feel' to the rears.......but to the fronts there seemed to be a 'solid'stop to the pedal travel (as though the pistons were seized!!!!)

Re: More brake problems!!!! Try To Remove Both The Front Bleed Screws As They May Be Blocked, When You Used The Back Bleeder Did You Get The Fluid Resoviour Over Flow With Fluid, Try Bleeding Useing The Pedal Not The Ezzey Bleeder!

Re: More brake problems!!!! You Need To Make Sure You Have Fluid Coming Out Of The Calipier, If Nothing Remove The Feed Pipe From The Master Cylinder ,and Press The Pedal Cover With Cloth Or Fluid Will Go Ever Where, Push It Slowly Down And Watch The Master/c Outlet

| Re: More brake problems!!!! More ideas but not so easy-raise front of car to help clear master cylinder-remove calipers put block where discs should be and bleed with calipers inverted/roled during bleeding-only way it can be done on hydraulic discs on a bike sometimes.Still suspect mastercylinder-if new where storred or is it rebuilt?

Re: More brake problems!!!! Sounds weird to me. What system is it is it Jaguar? Check your connections are right and lso check for any seizing. Is the master cylinder the correct one for the servo, and if Hybrid is the servo rod the correct length. Mike.
