Gaydon-Supercar Sunday 14.07.02

Hi
Any of you Leicester guys interested in convoying down the fosseway for this event? (or any non locals for that matter) Apparently its an excellent day for petrol heads of all persuasions & is FREE!! All you need to do is contact the Heritage centre on 01926 645071, say you want to 'exhibit' & they send a complimentary VIP ticket. It starts at around 10am, so if your on for a good blast & some fun then get your ticket & post here to sort out meeting up

Cheers

Richard

Richard,

This is a regular outing for the Birmingham members, and half a dozen or so already planning to go. Compulsory to have a ticket though if you don't want to end up in the ordinary punters car park. Passengers still have to pay, free entry for driver only (oh and free food also!) A good day out if, as you say, you are of the petrol head persuasion (which surely most of us are!).

Richard - like I said on the other thread, would have been there like a shot, but (un)fortunately I will be at Goodwood FOS. I dunno, USA June, Goodwood July, life's kinda hard ain't it??? }> }>

Wilf- I can see that life is kinda hard for you at the moment, but a couple of questions. How do you manage to fit work into your hectic 'cobra-ing'schedule & secondly where do you get all those brownie points from!!!!!!
Have a good time at Goodwood- You may bump into my cousin Pete in his superb Hawk 289FIA

Cheers

RE: Gaydon-Supercar Sunday 14.07.02

Richard - it's easy, I have one consuming hobby. I don't play golf, I don't like football or cricket (sorry guys). I work dammed hard, and long, and I play the same way. I use up my holiday allowance for trips like the one to the US.
My wife understands me - she knows how miserable I am if there is no cobra in my life. SHE pays for the Goodwood FOS each year as my birthday present, and we combine it with a visit to her bestest friend in Sussex.
I also get to take her to lots of Horse shows!! (penance or what?)

This life ain't no rehearsal - I do not want to go out of it thinking "if only". And I sure as hell won't be leaving a pot of money to anyone - I'm gonna spend every last penny myself.
There are plenty more things left for me to do yet.

Its just a life thing - you get the one, you have to make the most of it. One of the things I like most about this cobra thing is the efforts and sacrifices people make to make their dreams come true.

I'll get out of the pulpit for now.

Aaha, I think I have a cunning plan.
We've just moved & there is a horse riding stables next door. Now I'm mega allergic to horses so I cant go anywhere near there. Perhaps I just need to drop off wife + daughter at the weekend, give up golf, & find a longlost relative in Sussex!!

Cheers
