Picked it up today

Well I picked up my new Engine today and am a really happy chappy just have to work out all the ins and outs of the injection system now, and of course clean, rebuild, and get the thing working with a Mega squirt system. Oh boy lot to be getting on with this winter.
Adrian is a top bloke and i would recommend him to anyone who is after a cut out engine to rebuild.
Once again thanks Adrian

Nice one Martin. Next time we see it, will it be as shiny as the bin in the corner of your garage !!

I admire all of you guys that do this stuff, I would love to do it but fear it would take me 10 years + to finish so took the easy option.

I always wonder when people buy engines like this or from e/bay, breakers etc, how do you know that the thing works and is not totally sha**ed?

Re: Picked it up today

Adrian guarantees that the block and crank are crack free so provided that is the case and that they have not been bored out to their limit in the past, than there should be no problems ( except for all the money for the parts ). Basically I am doing it for the challenge and of course it is always a learning experience :thumb:

Re: Picked it up today

Good luck with the project.

I must say, having got near the end of my engine build that it has been a very rewarding exercise. Like yourself I'm planning on playing with an EFI system, prob a Holley 950 Pro setup with wideband O2 sensor.

I started off with just a bare block rather than a complete engine, so I got the chance to spec every single component, that has its plus and minus points.

I wish you well

James

Re: Picked it up today

Iain,

What flavour of Ford is that, is it a 302 or 351? Also what year is it? I ask as Im trying to find out if my damper is right for my engine as mines a 71 302 but my damper is too long (according to proffessional products!) My damper looks the same as yours.

Cheers

Hum, Looks strangely familiar, have you been reading my build diary James?

I have circuits and info available if you need it, Holley 950 and MSD Digital 6. Should be starting it up soon.

Happy days.

Paul.
