original cobra

Was filming for the beeb at my second home today (Beaulieu Motor Museum)
i live just round the corner. They had a big black 65 cobra which is a new exhibit the PR girl said she cant say who owned it but it was heavily insured
and sat next to Mark Knopflers 246 Dino & a 67 GT40.
over half the cars are on loan and dont get driven very ofen what a waste.:'(

WOT - No Pics ?
I never go to Beaulieu without a camera - mind you I don't go too often. about once a year in September for the Autojumble, otherwise it seems too expensive.

RE: original cobra

I believe the Cobra and the GT40 are owned by the same person. I have also heard that the Cobra is a lightweight fibreglass version, but I will probably be stood corrected on this.

Is this not the same as building a replica and then using it to go to the pub occassionaly and Stoneleigh once a year. I think it is a crying shame that cars are not used for their original purpose.

RE: original cobra

No i didn't take my camera with me, not my stills camera any way i was working.
I think some owners probably forget they even have them let alone drive them ,
not all rich/celebs owners are like Nick Mason or Rowan Attkinson.
And yes it is quite expensive for what is there .

RE: original cobra

Totaly agree with you Rob , but how do we get these guys out.
Also the less you use them , the more they go wrong. In the last
three years iv'e done 9000 miles , Just a note my Val wanted to
waste money on DIY today, i told her we must spend more wiseley.
Like on the Cobra , now iv'e got to cook my own dinner.

HAPPY BLASTING
