Engine Mounts

I have just installed an LS6 into a Euro chassis. All very straight forward, but it appears that the engine mounts need modifying for the standard exhaust manifolds to fit. Just thought I would check before I get the angle grinder out.

Also does anyone have a build manual they let me have.

Re: Engine Mounts

What `standard ` exhaust manifold are you using ?
The engine mounts would not normally get in the way of the headers as they normally sweep back.
I managed to fit my mounts the wrong way first time, pushing the engine too far forward. The engine rear drivers side is very close to the chassis as a guide.

Re: Engine Mounts

Trevor, thanks for your reply.

The manifolds are the standard LS6 cast iron exhaust manifolds. I'll take another look at the fitting of the engine mounts, but I think there was only one way to fit them.

The top of the rubber mounts is in the way of the bottom of the manifold.

Re: Engine Mounts

Paul
I will try and sort a photo this afternoon. From memory there are 3 pairs of fixings so you can use the front set or the back set of four.
If any help I have my original cast iron set plus I have a set of tight tuck headers which will fit fine if you have standard oil pan.
You are welcome to try them.
Trevor

Re: Engine Mounts

Paul,

Glad to hear your chassis and engine are now a couple. I'd better ring Andy and get him to delay your body, otherwise you'll beat me onto the road...
