| Which brand electric water pump? I know this may not be the normally done thing but hey, Im different! I want to replace the stock water pump on my 302 with an electric water pump to improve cooling at lower engine speeds etc and free up what HP I can, Also I like the idea of being able to control the pump speed to suit cooling requirements, I still need to check they can be controlled dynamically but Id like some opinions if anyone has one! Ive identified four pump options by three manufacturers. 1) CSR performance products, 905R 35-37 GPM pump. 2) Meziere WP111 35 GPM pump. 3) Meziere WP311 55 GPM pump (Meziere reccomend for street use.) 4) Moroso 63585 35 GPM pump. Not knowing these makes too well do any of them have a better reputation than the others? The pumps going in a cobra rep. so not for everyday use, therefore Im not concerned about pump life, most say greater than 2000 hrs but if it needs changing every 5 years so be it! CSR say 3500hrs or 50,000 miles for their pump. I did also see a Davis Craig pump but that does not mount in the stock location so a lot of fiddling about with my old wp would be required to fit this option. I must say I am liking option 3 at the moment, its expensive but I save on a billet pulley and new wp cost! Option 1 looks OK as well and has a longer life. What do you people think? Cheers :thumb: Andy

| Re: Which brand electric water pump? The guys on the american site reconed that they were more problem than they were worth and the extra laod on the alternator balanced the drag on the pump. ie no real gain in HP. I dont know if it is true or not, but I would ask somebody who is using one at present. Wilf maybe a good one here. Mike. |
