| Engine panels The time is looming to fit the stainless engine panels to the dax. Any suggestions from those who have gone before. Thinking this part may not be as easy as it looks. Look forward to any replies and help Regards Mark |

| Re: Engine panels Mark, as far as I'm aware the Dax kit is all pre formed and welded up. You just bond it in with Wurth adhesive or something similar, couldn't be easier. PS. Before you put the engine in of course!!!!!!!!!!!! |

| Re: Engine panels Make sure that you give all areas a good clean with white spirits before applying worth adhesive, Get some clamps from B&Q to hold the panels tight in place. I found it easier to fit the bulkhead before fitting the footwells. The areas that I had to trim where the pieces around the wheel arches. This is so you get a 3-5mm gap around the top of them for heat expansion. Go and buy yourself some more aluminmium or stainless and fit it where the wheel arch area rivets to the chassis. Otherwise you will end up with ugly fibreglass showing. I must admit that the footwells and bulkhead where a very good fit, but I was dissapointed at the wheelarches. You would think by now dax could supply them without any trimming what so ever. Cheers Lee

| Re: Engine panels Lee, Thank you very much, It solves my question on trimming as I knew that trimming was involved somewhere to fit them but which bits I didnt know. I was dreading trying to cut the footwell pieces as the stainless is quite thick. I was also wondering does the bracket on the chasis but closely up against the footwell panels or do they stop higher than that bracket. I have not taken them out of the bubble wrap yet as i am bound to trash them with my luck!!! Cheers again Mark |
