best way to fit sidepipes

I expect to receive my sidepipes from shiny bits this weekend. I would appreciate some advice on best way to fit them to the car. Especially the procedure of cutting the hole in the body.

How can I make sure the hole is correctly positioned so that the sidepipes are fully centered in the hole when they enter the enginebay. Wouldn't want to make any mistakes!

Thanks!

Re: best way to fit sidepipes

Project a line from the headeres/ manifold onto the inside of the body work. Cut/drill a small hole that falls withing the outline area of where the manifolds are pointing.
From the outside of the car gradually open out the hole and sight through until you can see the pipes.
Offer up the side ande adjust the hole until the sidepipes fit and have enough clearence all the way around.

Re: best way to fit sidepipes

Dave,

Thanks for the info. Actually I'm using shorty headers and will use a flexible exhaust piece to connect sidepipes to the headers. This probably means I have more freedom to position the pipes because they don't need to meet up with the headers. Just looked at the hardtop info. Very impressive. I'm sure the waiting time is very long?
