| Re: More than 3 Caster shims, is that OK? Hi Dave, First of all thanks for your service via Andy. I have those cracked bottom wishbones and they are installed to the front of the car. I have search at the forum and check all the things. One of the observation was, “Do not use more than 3 shims” but after finding the two different shim thickness, I am confused about witch type of shim are we talking about, 3 shims of 1.64 mm or 3 shims of 1 mm. the difference is almost 2 mm Yesterday I did install a combination 2 old and 2 new that make 5.28 mm it was a lot improved but not jet OK. Do you think that I can add an other mm and get in total 6.28 that is equivalent to 4 shims (old type) The short bolt (at the top ball joint) will be at the edge of the nut. What do you think Dave? Your experience is 6 + mm of shims? Sorry for the amount of questions, but I want to get it correct for once and for all. Best regards, Carlos

| Re: More than 3 Caster shims, is that OK? Hi Carlos. Your problem is not one that I'm familiar with but I fit either 3 thick shims or 4 thin ones (This is how they come supplied from Wards, where I get the axles from usually). If yiou are still having problems you might have to consider other alternatives. Do your top wishbones have spacers between themselves and the chassis? If so then you could reduce the packing on the rea and increase the ones at the front.
