Pertronix ignitor

I have obtained the above to replace points in vacuum advance type Mallory. I have two questions. 1. I cannot see any retaining nuts/screws for removal to enable me to remove old breaker plate ( it will not come out after removing points) and 2. There is not any facility on new ignitor plate to hook on the vacuum advance arm.
Any help appreciated

roger

Errrrrrrrr, from memory I don't think that you take out the contact breaker baseplate. I think the pertronix stuff sits on it. I am away for a few days, if you still have a problem I will look at my car on my return.
Boyze has a similar installation and will no doubt advise.

Re: Pertronix ignitor

Hi
According to the instruction leaflet , the whole assembly (including baseplate) should be removed. I have looked on the Pertronix website and it would appear I have been sent the wrong type by their agent. If anyone wants a brand new Pertronix ignitor type ML181 for a 25 or 26 YD or YL non vacuum Mallory, please let me know.
