Member help & garages/tuning near Guildford or Wimbledon

Hi everyone,
Hope you can help. Just bought a second hand Sumo and looking for a helpful member near Guildford, Surrey or Wimbledon (car is in Guildford, I'm in Wimbledon!) that I can chat to and perhaps visit for a couple of hours to find out more about the setup of my Cobra.

I want to tweak/change parts on the car/be able to fix faults etc i.e not feel like an absolute beginner- I have read the build manual and the Haynes manuals, but to be honest I don't know where to start!!!

I'd also be happy to help out on your project in return and have a fair amount of time as I'm about to give up working full time for a couple of months.

If you also know of any garages/tuning used to servicing and setting up these types of car near Guildford please also let me know.

Car is a Sumo Mk2 with Jag running gear and a Ford 302 engine.

Many thanks.

barlowboy

Good idea would be to come along to the westerham meet at the grasshopper on the FOURTH Sunday of the month.
Or if you can make it to the fast car show at brands next weekend there will be plenty of cobs and owners there. Look in "events" for se fast car show all the details are there, looks like its going to be a good weekend with lots of stuff to do. Free entry for cob and driver but you need to quote X136 se region. Best look at the above thread it explains all.

Barlowboy,

I've got a sumo (but its a rover V8 and with sierra running gear), nearly finished. But if you want me to have a poke around your car (apart from the axles and engine they are all largely the same), and point out a few things, let me know.

Kevin

Barlowboyo,

Welcome to the club, I am a newboy to well 8 months and was made very welcome at the Westerham meet loads of good advice as well as a nice bunch of blokes. Some times faults just happen and you haved to just get stuck in and get it fixed. You will get loads of advice starting from here and you will learn very quickly. The more you play the more you will learn and you will be surprised at with a little bit of reading and asking questions how quick the knowledge grows. I have a sumo with a Rover V8. I also live in Caterham not a million miles away.

Regards

Marc
