Squeaking suspension

Anyone got any tips about curing squeaking suspension?

I guess there may be a 'dry joint', etc. I once read in an American magazine to mix alcohol (?) and silicone together and spray it around the suspension.

When driving slowly or parking, I can hear an annoying squeak which I think is coming from the front end.

Cheers.....

Re: Squeaking suspension

I had exactly the same thing on my car, after lots of lubing and driving around trying to find the front end squeak, I could not cure it.

A few weeks later, and completely unconnected (so I thought-do'h) I rebuilt the handbrake calipers (pre MOT) and lo and behold, the squeak stopped; it was either the handbrake pads or the main caliper pads/pins that were the culprit (Jaguar).
As Dave suggested in a similar previous post after I d said this, if you try the brakes when you can get the squeak and it goes away, you will know its the calipers.

Cheers

Re: Squeaking suspension

The car should have its weight on the wheels before the suspension is torqued up. If it is not then the bushes etc will be under tension all the time it has weight on it and can cause squeeks and premature failure of bushes.
