| Retrofitting servo assist brakes After a small crash yesterday in my GD (brakes not bedded in enough) I was wondering whether it was possible to retrofit powered brakes. Would I need a suitable place to attach vacuum lines or can you get all electric units? I also found my steering incredibly heavy, but that could have something to do with the fact the column was rubbing on the escutcheon. I can probably live without power steering... ...probably

| Re: Retrofitting servo assist brakes I think it will take some getting used to "manual" brakes again (my Mk.I Golf didn't have quite the power of the GD...). Still gluing those carpets in - it's taking a lot of Evostik and I'm really high... ...look at all the pretty colours...

| Re: Retrofitting servo assist brakes Ah, you have one of those bulky-style steering boss things then? They're a different design to the original type that was supplied - very little clearance on the escutcheon. Simon.
