Brake Calipers Seal

I have a question regarding the Jaguar 4 pot brake caliper Piston seal (Inside seal)
I am recondition one of the calipers and found that the seal ring is mounted at the opposite way as the other caliper.

The seal is a kind of trapezium that has a shape of a chopped cone.

The one that I am dismantling has the cone vertices towards the end of the cup (where the piston goes) but the other caliper has the cone vertices towards the outside of the piston.

Now my question is:
Witch way should I install the cone of the trapezium ring seal?

Best regards,
Cobra289

Re: Brake Calipers Seal

Hi Carlos.
The seal has twisted, it should sit flat.

Re: Brake Calipers Seal

Hi Dave,

Indeed when is installed it is flat no problems with that.
For some reason I think that Girling make it twisted, perhaps to have a better positive seal.

Dave at the accident the bottom lug from the caliper was broke. It was just new from Ed Ward. So I have found one caliper here and I am switching the pistons and all the seals.
I have asked Ed for a reconditioned one but the shipping kill the joy.

Best regards,
Carlos (Cobra289)
