Exhaust Escutcheon Plates

Evening all. I've just cut the holes in my front wings for the sidepipe exits and want to source some escutcheon plates.

I've fitted a set of Custome Chrome pipes with quad collectors so I'm looking for escutcheon plates with a square hole of minimum 100mm inside dimension. Probaly looking at 125mm to give some clearance. To my surprise, Custome Chrome don't supply them so I'm looking for alternatives. Any suggestions for suppliers?

Cheers

Alan

Re: Exhaust Escutcheon Plates

Chris,

Thanks for that - I take it you got home from Exeter OK? Sunday was damn cold (I know, I spent the afternoon in the garage fitting the windscreen I picked up on Saturday) - you must have been frozen.

I actually measured the plates on Pilgrim's new demonstrator on Saturday and they were just over 100mm so I think they'd be a bit tight. Any chance you could check the inside dims of yours?

Cheers

Alan

Re: Exhaust Escutcheon Plates

Chris - do you have any problem with the pipes hitting the plates, particularly if there's any engine rock?

Bilko - are the Dax plates the ones I can see in your gallery?

Thanks chaps.

Re: Exhaust Escutcheon Plates

Alan

Do you really need plates round the exhaust, IMHO I prefer them without, I've got about 1/8" between pipes and body, they don't hit on accelleration and they don't burn the paint when very hot. :thumb:

Re: Exhaust Escutcheon Plates

Cheers Chris.

Bilko - measurements would be good if it's not too much trouble. It sounds like Chris may have suggested the solution but just in case I need to go bigger later.

Mike - appreciate the thought but I just can't stop bolting on shiny bits now that I've started. The combination of your 1/8" clearance figures and Chris's 110mm dimensions seem to suggest the Pilgrim plates will work. I can always fit bigger one's later if necessary. BTW - good to meet you on Saturday.
