leather protection

Does anyone have any suggestions as to what is the best way to protect the leather during the winter storage months?
Though I gently heat my garage overnight it does sometimes get a little damp in there.
I was thinking of coating the seats etc in a leather food and not rubbing it off until next spring?
Thanks Bob

Auto Glym leather care cream, mines been in an unheated garage for years without any problems to to the leather.

I do have a B&Q de-humidifier running all winter.

Re: leather protection

Hi a good product on the market is RENAPUR leather balsam you rub it into the leather with a sponge and after a minute rub over with a cloth thats it done, now the good bit, it feeds the leather but makes it waterproof and stops any damp peatrateing the leather, great if you get caught in a down pour. i think its a £10er ive had mine for ages it does shoes, car interiors, hand bags, (not mine officer) in fact anything leather. Renapur LTD.W.Sussex.U.K. is all ive got on the tub. its brill water just runs off, oh and you can use it on wax jackets and wood as well.:thumb: PS it says its made from completely natural ingredients including beeswax..........

Re: leather protection

Thanks Guys,
This info is much appreciated especially the PM from rangrov advising me not to leave leather-feed/polish on over winter.
I think I'm off to B&Q to get a dehumidifier (what not Wilkos!!). I'm also giong to put a low watt lamp in the car, get some autoglym or renapur.
I've also got a frost protector heater set up in the garage.
Hmmm...... maybe I'll move into the garage until March!

Re: leather protection

Good tips guys,
My black leather seats got a very tiny white patch on them last winter, which came off with mild soapy water, but hopefully feeding with the renapaur will stop that and give the leather a bit of depth?
I watched the renapaur video and ordered some, it'll be perfect for my bike boots too!

Re: leather protection

Re: leather protection

Great suggestion Pete!
I was thinking of cannabalising it and using the fan on my rad, the condensor coils as brake pipe, the grill as a new grill mesh, the castors as .........
........oh and the cabinet surround as a sump guard.
What'ja'reckon????
