| Re: Offenhauser Manifold Hi Robin Front will be for the thermostat and water pump bypass hose. Screw thread in front should take the water temp sendor. Under the carb would be a good place for the brake vacuum. At the rear should be a plate with a tube coming out off it. The standard one off the SD1/ Land rover engine should fit. This then connects to the heater as the return pipe. The feed pipe for the heater comes off the top radiator hose on the water pump housing. Hope that made sense. Craig.

| Re: Offenhauser Manifold Robin, You seem to have correctly answered all your own questions! Front holes The big one - thermostat. must have some kind of bypass -usually with a seperate pipe as you say - connects to rear of water pump. The small one - engine temp sender. Plenum feed to brake servo vac connection Hole in rear face - feed to heater or blank of if no heater required. Return from heater into small pipe on water pump bottom hose feed (or into one of the two feeds on the pump rear face - depends on pump age/orignal fitment). Source all these parts from any of the RV8 places - Real Steel (definately stock them) Rimmers, RPi, JRV8 etc. As for the manifold itself - the Offenhauser/JWR is not really the racers choice as the ports are VERY small and further restricted by the splitter. However, I see it's secondhand so I guess it was cheap - in which case they're good for bottom end torque and drivability at the expense of ultimate top end power. Russ |
