Authentic looking knock offs

For those early enough in the build that may be interested in the more authentic knock off wheels these seem reasonably priced

Re: Authentic looking knock offs

I am not sure what the tie up is, if any or if these are exact copies of Trigos but they are virtually identical to my Trigos and come from nearly the same area in California. If you are going to use them remember that the adaptors push the wheel out and will increase the wheel track possible giving problems with the wheels sticking out from the wheel arch. I have overcome this at the front with my own designed hubs that eliminate the front adaptor, the rears are OK on my car, they are the dogs ******** are much more original than the bolt on wheels that I notice people like Soveriegn and Hallmark describe as Halibrands instead of Halibrand style bolt on wheels, cheers, Simon

Re: Authentic looking knock offs

I went to Image wheels the other day and they've made a halibrand replica with a cover that goes over the wheel nuts and is held on by the spinner - they also have no rim bolts visible, so are an excellent middle ground if you like your cob 'old school'. They arent on their website yet though.
cheers
Andy

Re: Authentic looking knock offs

I can always get these new hubs made, I do not do it myself, but if I get them in quantites the price comes down. For a pair(hope you are sitting down) about 350 inc vat, but if there are orders for more then the price comes down. I also have a CAD drawing which could be worked from if you have an engineering company that could do the machining for you and you are free to use it, I only wanted to solve a problem for myself and if anyone else wants the info they are welcome to use it. There are two other cars running in Europe with my hub design and I know those guys are very happy with it. I am not making anything on this, this is the cost price from the machine shop. Do not forget that you should be able to get a discount on the set price for the wheels as you will not need two of the adaptors and as well as that I also have a pair of spare adaptors that we couuld do a deal on. Do a search under TRIGOS in the forums and you will find the previous posts on the subject, cheers, Simon

Re: Authentic looking knock offs

Hello Simon,

to get rid of my adapters, I am in the process of manufacturing new hubs for my VINTAGE WHEELS, which are different from TRIGOS. I did a lot of measuring so far but did not start with the drawings.
Luckily I found this post.

As I would like to save time and effort with the drawing I'd apprecciate to get your CAD files. At least the "JAG part" of the hubs could be reused, which would help me a lot.

regards

Carlos

PS: If there are folks around, being interested in such VINTAGE hubs, I could offer you those of course. ( No certification for public roads and no liability in case of failure. For racing porpose on own risk... and so on ).
And .... the price will not be far off the 350 inc vat, Simon was stating. I am not even sure if I will be able to make a pair for this money as the steel we are using takes a lot of tooling time.

Re: Authentic looking knock offs

Just to make it clear, I am “Cobra289” (Carlos) but not the Carlos from above.

I have posted some pictures of the IMAGE wheels with the bolts covered see this link:
SVA approved kit

But here you can see a nice picture with tire on, in the snow.
