| underslung exhaust Hi another question, just wondered how anyone using underslung are fixing the rear pipes/boxes? I have the system coming neatly under the Diff(3" oval) but am unsure how to finish it off bearing in mind the movement of the back end in use? I have got some 3" flexy so I suppose that's an option. any views? Thanks Dave |

| Re: underslung exhaust Thanks Pete, I assume that's a beefy bracket using u clamps around the diff area? |

| Re: underslung exhaust Yup, That arrangement works just fine, until you hit a small metal lump embedded in the top of a speed hump at around 5mph. Will rip the whole system off, including the nice rubber sheet mount at the back. Dont suppose I can blame GD for the local council's idea of road furniture though.

| Re: underslung exhaust I was speaking to an anonymous GD owner who bought some new stainless bends for his exhaust. They were not quite bent enough and for some reason he thought the best course of action was to fit them to the car whilst it was jacked up and then use the weight of the car to coax the pipes into place... ...ended up with a car supported purely on the exhausts which had refused to budge!!

| Re: underslung exhaust If its a GD using a Jag diff together with the standard inner pivot plates that bolt to the side of the diff you will see that there are tapped holes in the base of each plate. These tapped holes can be used to support brackets from which to suspend exhausts ( thus negating the need to drill holes in the lovely GD chassis) and indeed I think the Mini rubber exhaust bobbins use this same thread. Just another option.......... Cheers, Tony
