Alternator for v8 rover and bracket advice for dax

Hello again,

I have a standard alternator and bracket to fit to my rover v8. Heres the but, it wont fit as it fowls the inner wing.

Is there a smaller alternator that you can use or do you have to make a new bracket.

If you have to make a bracket does anyone have any ideas or templates that I could copy.

Hi Markieboy, you need a GD mounting bracket. Mounts the alternator low down on the nearside. easy to align and adjust. I made an adjuster using flat bar drilled along its length for tensioning the belt. Easy and secure. Looks good too. I forget the cost but not expensive. I did post a picture on the site time ago but have just looked and cannot find it and unfortunately I don't have the pic with me.
