Re: Leather versus Vinyl

We were soaked on way to L M while we stopped for a beer.

The big golfing umbrella lasted a good 20 seconds before it was blown away, and seats ended up more like swimming pools.

wiped away, nice cooling action on derriere for a bit. Fine. Smells nice, looks better.

Vinyl is what mk 1 Cortina' are for.

Re: Leather versus Vinyl

Yeh, like i'm going to spend almost £30k on a car and then put crappy vinyl seat in.. NOT!!

Nearest i've got to vinyl was a yellow 1978 Austin Maxi 1750HL with a black vinyl roof. (Eveyone called it the skip for some reason?)

Howard I have voted vinyl as my seats are they, and the rest of the car is leather, don't suffer with any sweat problems, mind you my nuts arnt as big as Miket's and as said they are easy to clean the seats thats is!! . Osgood.

Re: Leather versus Vinyl

I have had vinyl for 4 years and 14,000 miles.

It was the cheaper option but after this period of time, the seats are beginning to get a bit shiny and plasticy looking. I also find it difficult to clean the vinyl as all the cleaners you can buy, are silicon based and leave a shiny residue.

My opinion, start with vinyl and change to leather when you have run out of other upgrades.

Re: Leather versus Vinyl

An interesting debate but it looks like "leather" is winning at the moment, my thanks to everyone who has voted and at the end of the day it's all down to an individuals personal choice.

Cheers

Re: Leather versus Vinyl

Has anyone ever gone for a snazzy 'cloth' interior?
