Polishing Alloy

Hi

I want to polish up the alloy of my RV8 engine. not all of it, I'm going to paint the block after cleaning but wanted to polish up the timing cover etc. Whats the best thing to do it with and also the best way to keep it looking good?

Thanks

Martin

Re: Polishing Alloy

Mothers is way and beyond dear old SOLVO.
Witnessed one of the guy's use it on his wheels at Detling. He bought it in the states on a visit and all the hot rod and truck guy's use it out there.
Wow I have ordered me a tin.
It's been delivered to AndyS who also witnessed the use of it.
Yet to try it, but seen what it does and was impressed.

This is where we ordered ours from. £10.99 a tin, but it lasts for ages as you only need a tiny bit.

Re: Polishing Alloy

Dave I tested your pot out yesterday on my wheels and yep it works just fine, much better than autosol or any other I have used.
Just dont use it on chrome.

Re: Polishing Alloy

Have to agree re Mothers - it was my wheels at Detling and Micks polish.
Best product I have seen for ages!!

The best bit is the ease of use 4 wheels done within 30 mins - nice one!

Re: Polishing Alloy

Frosts do polishing kits as well. They sell the little polishing wheels that fit to a dremmel. You could use these and the Mothers and still have elbow joints after !
