which dark blue?

I know this is a difficult question to answer, but I hope to get some suggestions on a nice dark blue for my cobra. Last few days I have been scanning a lot of cars while driving. A lot of dark blue is very dull, it seems the blues with more 'dept' are also a lighter shade of blue. For example Toyota's dark blue mica. Fiat has a nice dark blue.

Does anyone got a suggestion?

ps I'm planning to have white le mans stripes

Re: which dark blue?

I used jaguar LE MANNS met blue . Limited edition it was used on the jag xj 220 for 1 year only. It has a small fleck in it and when the sun hits it , it shines even more . I also have 2 8 INCH stripes of jag seamist blue. Very light blue. Its used on the new shape S type. Hope this helps. There are pictures in my gallery.

Re: which dark blue?

I was going to suggest you get Steel Blue gel and leave it (As mine is) , but then i saw you have a Dax, so paint it'll have to be..

(just uploaded a couple of pics to my gallery http://www.cobraclub.com/gallery/sho...p?i=5137&c=500)

Re: which dark blue?

thanks guys. Nice colors!

But I guess I'm looking for a darker blue. A blue that make you wonder if it's blue, black or purple depending on how the sunlight hits it.

Re: which dark blue?

I've taken to going around car show rooms..."just looking". A lot of them have these sample walls up with the different shades of colour that their cars come in. To be honest Vauxhall have had the nicest range I've seen and Aston Martin was a bit disappointing...suppose colour isn't a priority at 189k or maybe they do private selections with a specialist...

Have been looking at greens though so cant recommend any blues... except Muddy Waters of course, Legendary music!
eh...good luck with it.
