Shifter recommendations

Hi folks,

I am considering either a Hurst Promatic 2 or a B&M Quicksilver shifter for my Chevy 350 with Turbo 350 autobox.

Does anyone have any comments on which is better, stronger, worse, smoother, easier, better looking, etc. etc.?

Any tips will help.

Thanks,

Re: Shifter recommendations

Peter take a look at the Gennie Shifter (see http://www.hotrodhotline.com/gennie/#shifters )

I used to have auto on my car and I used one of these. You get a simple chrome rod with a ball knob on teh top and it looks just like a manual.

Personally I'd go with the B & M option with a full quickshift lever.

Gareth,

Can you say why you like the B&M?

Re: Shifter recommendations

I've had about 10 different Yank motors over the years with various transpacks and kits in them and the B&M version was by far the best one out of them all. Also fitted quite a few myself over the years and they seem to be the one that gives the least trouble.

HTH
