GD Rear O/S Wheel clearance

I've heard the GD shell, having been taken from a hand built original or a copy of one at least, is somewhat asymetric around the rear arches.

Having just dropped my suspension by an inch or so the rear o/s wheel is now catching on the top/front of the arch and scagging the ally arch cover. (It did before but only under extreme provocation)

I've got standard wheels , tyres etc all sourced from GD, so has anyone else had this or am i , err.. 'special'

Only thing i can see to do is grind the arch return back and fold the ally cover in a bit. This is what it looked like before i lowered things.. (You can see the ally is slightly bent at the top)
