spark plug gap

Could someone tell me what the gap is on a spark plug for a Ford 351W with GT40 heads. The engine was new in 1996.

Thanks.

Hi Wilf. Thanks for the reply.

MSD 6 series ignition plus Ford electronic distributer. Somebody told me yesterday the gap should be 1.2mm.

Re: spark plug gap

50 - 55 thou, which is 1.25 - 1.375 mm

This assumes compression ratio of about 9.5 : 1.

If you have a higher CR, close them up 5 thou for every half point above 9.5.
