Chevy engine mount bolts

Do I need specific bolts from Realsteel or can I get them from a local factor? Has anyone got the size/part number? I'm not trying to save money, just want the right bolts.

Re: Chevy engine mount bolts

Hi KJD, I'm pretty sure they're now't special can't help with the size right now butI 'll look tomorrow if no one else helps.
Just make sure they are good quality bolts. maybe a 10.9. :thumb:
I'm fairly sure local fastener place would have them.

from one KJD to another.

BTW do you mean the big bolt through the mount or the ones holding the mount to the engine?

Re: Chevy engine mount bolts

Cheers for the reply Kev. I need the 2x3 bolts that attach the mounting to the engine. Already got the mountings and rubber bobbins from AK.

Does anyone know where I might get some bobbins like those AK supply but with longer threaded studs?
My perception is that these are needed to support the Getrag gearbox by the fork-like mounts which protrude from each side.

Robin, i used the same AK supplied bobbins for the Getrag, are you sure you need different ones, if so give them a ring to see which

I got 4 engine mount bobbins and 2 gearbox bobbins from AK the other day. The gearbox ones are different as they don't have metal plates on each side of the rubber as the engine ones have. £5 each.

Re: Chevy engine mount bolts

Thanks Kev.

As you can see, the normal ones dont have a long enough shaft to get a locking fastner on.

Cheers

Re: Chevy engine mount bolts

I have plumbed for a 'locking flange nut', which makes best of the available thread and locks on to the gearbox support, better than just a washer. Also using threadlock.
