Problem with oil pump stripped thread

Hi guys,

sorry about this always posting problems but another problem I have that has reared its head when I noticed an oil leak from my oil pump (RV.
After finding whre its comming from I found one of the blanking bolts in the pump was only finger tight, so I atempted to tighten and low and behold the thread has been stripped to bits. So heres my problem, limited space as the engine is in situ, so can't really drill and tap (in fact struggling to get a tap in place) and looking at it it doesnt look like I have the tool to remove the pump (look like some odd looking bolts attaching it) so what are my options here?
I
s it possible to just stick some of that metal weld stuff around the bolt and hope for a tight seal (not bothered too much as its a temporary engine anyway) or should I just resign myself to a pain in the **** job of trying to get the pump off?

cheers
Ben

Re: Problem with oil pump stripped thread

The strange looking bolts come off very easily with an 8mm ring spanner, in fact the whole pump comes off very easily but if it's only temporary then do what you think is best
