SVA and side pipe brackets.

Hello,

I fitted the side pipes at the weekend. Not quite finished but looking very good.

I was wondering how the brackets will get on at the SVA, are they somehow exempt? They will certainly be a bit sharp and hard, so I assume the SVA man won't be bending down that far to check them? There are also some clamps around them to hold the final bend on which are also pretty nasty looking. The sharp bits will be on the underside, tucked out the way but still...

Also, whats the minimum gap betwix bodywork and sidepipe to avoid burn marks. I can just about get my finger in at the moment, it could be adjusted out a bit but would be some effort so if its ok I'll leave it.

Thanks!

Graham

Re: SVA and side pipe brackets.

All depends on how much the brackets protrude.
Make a 30/60/90 triangls from some cardboard and then place it on the floor with the pointy end sticking up. Slide it up to the side of your car. Where the triangle touches your car this is called the sill line. Anything below this is exempt and anything it touches or is above must comply with the min. rad. rules.
The gap you have sounds fine for the distance from the bodywork.

Re: SVA and side pipe brackets.

Thanks, I think I understand, is this diag right? anything in the triangle must comply, anything outside is not tested. I assumed the triangle goes against the pipe and not the bodywork? So if it's as per this diag the bracket isn't tested?

Cheers

Graham

Re: SVA and side pipe brackets.

Now we know who it was that sprayed "Call BC_SUV for a good time" in the toilets at Eastbourne train station.
