| Re: T5 gearbox 330 ft. lbs. is the maximum for a standard T5 but there are some reworked ones that can handle 600 ft. lbs. Most T5 on the road are taking from V6 engines and have not such amount of torque capabilities. 240 ft. lbs. are more frequent. Believe me before you break a good T5 you will twist the halve shafts like I did. They where twisted by 15 Regards, Cobra289

I only ask because there has been talk lately that the weld would be the weakest part, but if yours twisted instead of snapping the weld, then that would suggest that it's not the case. |

| Re: T5 gearbox Yes they where shortened and welded. They where on a DAX with a Chevy and 250 HP but those are real. Lots of torque due to the CAM and the TPI (injection) Check the picture. Regards, Cobra289

All the bearings and bushes/retainers and I had all the shafts nitrided and new gears that are (supposedly) 30% stronger than the originals. The Quafie set up is supposed to be good for 800hp and 700ftlb of torque.
