Tires

Hi All,

Ordered my tires today. Decided to go for track day tires that are road legal. I won't be driving my car very much and would still like the added benefit of track tires when I go to the race circuit at Knockhill, etc.

Bought Toyo Proxes R888 295/30 for the rear and 235/40 for the front. Got them on the internet from a tire dealer in cumbria. Just a tad under £700.

Got my 18" Halibrands last week.....They are booootiful!

Good Price :thumb: However "be aware" that R888's only work well at track day temperatures! Just be carefull on normal roads as they won't get up to temp For the same money you could have had T1R's

Re: Tires

Thanks for the info,

I didn't build the car for day to day use. Just for sunny days which in Scotland means I'll be driving the car approximately 2.5 days of the year.

But I do intend to go to track days more.

If I find I need more grip on country roads I'll buy set of rims and T1R's.

Re: Tires

If its the same supplier - I found www.camskill.co.uk to be cheapest for tyres and also does larger sizes. I have no connection with them - just always good results. Delivery by return usually. Only problem is then getting someone to fit and balance the tyres 18inch with anything wider than 285/35 seems to be beyond the machine scope of most fitting centres.
