Holley Carb Questions

This question might be quite hard to follow as I do not know about carbs at all.
I have a Holley carb as shown and intend to fit to my build this weekend.

I have fitted part 111 and want to know if there should be something in the holes marked 1 and 11.
1 and 11 look blind, but I am not sure. I fitted part 111 as I bought a fuel pipe (solid) and the gap between the two inlet ports was incorrect without it.

There is a screw in the part marked 1111.

When i do start it up one day I will have two fire extinguishers !

Re: Holley Carb Questions

You are missing quite a few things. The two brass screws hide the adjusting screw for the floats and are nothing to do with the fuel feed. The fuel line fits in the two large downward pointinh orrifices that have threads around the inner circumference, You will need fittings. The hole highest up in the body accomodates a brass blanking screw and washer and is solely for the purpose of shutting off the hole to the float bowl which is opened when setting the float height.

The lower small hole accomodates the needle that resticts the idle circuit and is used for setting the idle mixture. It fits in with a small cork or fibre surround collar and is a screw fit.

Judging by your post you desperately need to get hold of a manual as god knows what else is missing. Where did you get it from.

Thanks, I am not that great at IT either, the two brass screws I understand are not relevant, my drawing was merely try to show how the fuel line goes in.

These fittings are present on the other side of the carb to the side I have photographed

Is this at point 11 on my picture?

The lower small hole accommodates the needle that restricts the idle circuit and is used for setting the idle mixture. It fits in with a small cork or fiber surround collar and is a screw fit.

I do have the manual it came with, it was all part of my engine package.

Re: Holley Carb Questions

Hi David.
Part 111 that you have added in order to get the fuel line to fit, is a secondary metering block. This is a desirable add-on in some cases as it lets you fine tune the carb better, but, A) You seem to be missing the idle screws and blanking plugs (at least) and B) Unless you really know what you are doing, it can make setting up almost impossible.
Far better IMO to ditch it and get the right length fuel line
