Granada differential info

Dear all,

Does anybody have a laymans guide to reconditioning a differential unit? What should I be looking for, how to recondition, change what etc.

Also for the sumo what is the best size to go for if running a rv8 3.5 l engine? Is there much choice anyway?

Cheers,
Malc

Re: Granada differential info

Diff choice will depend on whether you want acceleration or good fuel economy at cruising, you decide.............

Re: Granada differential info

Thanks for the info chaps.

Re diff size I know that the lower the number the greater the theoretical top speed but the slower the acceleration. But what I haven't been able to find out yet is what diff sizes are available for a mk 3 Granada and what variations on the make they relate to.

Cheers,
Malc

Re: Granada differential info

From memory,
3.89/3.92 open very common, good acceleration
3.54 open and lsd not so common
3.38 open very rare
2.88 even rarer
