| Ford running gear Hi, I'm trying to identify my rear hubs. My diff is Sierra Cosworth with the standard 100mm drive shaft flanges but the rear hubs are 5 stud and I can only find reference to 4 stud hubs for Sierra Cosworth. The existing discs are 273mm diameter and are 4 hole which have been drilled out to 5 hole. I want to replace the discs but I can only find Scorpio discs with 5 holes which are 253mm diameter and are therefore too small for my calipers and pads. I think the donor was an 81 Granada but they had drums on the rear end and I'm begining to think that the hubs are original and they have been converted to take discs by drilling 4 hole discs out to 5 hole. Any help would be appreciated. Harry |

| Re: Ford running gear Hi Craig, My research shows that Granada went over to discs when they were rebadged Scorpio in the middle 80's but before that they were drums. Harry |

| Re: Ford running gear Are you sure the diff is from a Sierra? Have you got a casting number or ,better still, the number from the metal tag? Mk II Granadas (up to 1985) all had 5 stud wheels and this was carried on to the Mk III. Don't recall any Mk II's having discs as standard. It's pssible that someone has used a Sierra diff in a granada rear axle and/or the hubs have been changed to 5 stud (my Cortina front hubs have been)

As far as I recall the Sierra cosworth discs are 273mm dia but only came in 4 hole form. The Granada (and cosworth variant) were mainly in 253mm dia (although there are a couple of obscure ones). Are you sure it's a Cosworth diff as my drive flanges are 125mm dia (Rs 500 type). To change drums to discs would require all the right caliper mountings etc to suit the disc size as well so they must of been modified from something else???? Do you have any other pics/markings etc to help ???

| Re: Ford running gear Take one of the the discs to a competent ( ie trade) motor factors. They will be able to cross reference it by appearance and measurements. They may even have something suitable in stock. Cheers, Tony

| Re: Ford running gear Thanks for the replies. The metal tag is still on the diff and has been confirmed as Sierra Cosworth. The diff is currently with Quiffe who are fitting ATB internals and they confirm it is Sierra Cosworth. I've trolled through the Need for Speed website and Gareth's comments are correct, the 273mm diameter discs are Sierra Cosworth but 4 hole. What I can't understand is that I seem to have a caliper and mounting lugs for a Sierra Cosworth but with a 5 bolt hub. Harry |

| Re: Ford running gear Harry. The Mk3 Grannies had several "hot" versions. Ie 4x4, 4x4 Turbo and Cossie were three. As Tony said go to any "Decent" Motor Factors and they should be able to Size/Spec discs for you

| Re: Ford running gear Looks like the Sierra Cosworth had rear discs with a diameter of 273mm. I've posted a link to some on Ebay but there are plenty of others supplying just the rear discs. it seems there are both vented and solid discs in this diameter. [Just did a search under "sierra disc"] All of them are 4 stud fixing which means your initial thouhgts are correct - your rear discs have been adapted to 5 stud. (Presumably this is because you have granada fitment on the front) http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/SIERRA-RS-COSW...QQcmdZViewItem
