Robert, is this site any good for you?
When I had the Sumo I was looking for some convex mirrors , never got to buying any, but think these people might have what you want_

Can any one point me at or supply a picture of a pair of these fitted on a cob. They look pretty good and also SVA acceptable?

Cheers

Graham

Graham.
The Ebay ones and those in the Classic Catalogue all have the wrong angle/shape of base. For Cobra use and certainly for SVA they need to be mounted on the screen pillars in order to get the required field of vision. As far as I know they are only available from S&J Motors and Hawk Cars. They come complete with a special mounting that screws onto the screenpillar using one of the existing screws so negating the need to drill the pillar. I've attached a picture of mine on it's way to SVA I have left them on as I liked the look of them and they give a better view than the normal Lucas type.
If you want any closer pics give me shout and I'll nip out and take some

Chedz,
what? A Cobra with boobs on?
Sorry, couln't resist it. Like your avatar!
Come to think of it........
Would they really be SVA compliant, I suppose no sharp edges for the inspector to get his testing balls stuck on, the radius looks OK.
How would you fit them?

Cheers,

yes I think screen mounted is the answer, I see Dax sell a set that is suitable for the Brasscraft screen, but they are very dear and...they wanted £16 for postage, which I really wasn't happy about.....do Dax wrap their items in £5 notes?

Do you know the rough cost of the Hawk/S&J items?

Cheers

Graham

When I bought mine from S & J they were £113 a pair. Can't remember if that was plus postage

Mirrors

I've been reading the comments on mirrors - I had the original style mirrors mounted on the wings by the screen stanchions when I took my car to Taunton SVA in 2003 and they passed as they were - big sigh of relief as I didnt want to pay what was then £90 or so for the screen mounted ones.
I know the received wisdom is that only the 'SVA approved@ ones will pass but has anyone else tried to get the old ones through?
