MSD white wire

I have been doing the final install on my MSD wiring and have the white spare. Is it worth grounding through a switch for use as an ignition kill?

I have a battery isolator (removeable key type) and will also be having an insurance rec' immobiliser.

Would it be worth having to prime the engine with oil (ignition killed) while cranking? Any thoughts.

If you kill it with the engine running and pump the loud pedal a couple of times, on turning it back on will it make old people jump like my motorbike does

Hi Lee if you do kill it with the engine running, make sure your alternator is diode protected otherwise you might fry it!

Aye up Steve, dio who protected I thought electrics weren't your stong spot. I have a full loom to connect up if you arn't busy

I won't be trying to blow up this motor, alternator or anyhting else attached to it .....cost too much. It was only when typing down my question I remembered the ability to make some extremely loud noises on my old TRX 850 twin using a similar method!

I am going to see how far I manage on my tod. Thanks for the offer, please wait by the phone I am not am expert but little by little I'm learning.

Do you happen to have an indent crimp tool that will do non insulated terminals use for 16mm2 up to 70mm2? I have half a dozen big terminals to crimp (and solder) but no tooling. Mega money to buy just for the one job. I would liked to have used the hydraulic swaging tool I used for my starter cable but access to that went when I switched my jobs.

Cheers,

Don't do that with the cob.....you could quite easily blow the exhaust apart...and that would be expensive.
