Clutch slave

Hi,
i dialed in the face and bore of my bellhousing today and fitted all the nuts blots and clutch fork. I'm now a bit stuck because the clutch slave cylinder i have doesn't seem to have a place to mount it. The clutch slave kit i got also comes with a strip of steel that has threaded holes and a beveled face on one side....the sixy million dollar question is where does it all go? i'm aware i'll probably have to weld on the bracket onto the engine or bellhousing but would appreciate a pic of where i should do this.

I really want to get my engine in for the weekend so any help is appreciated (especially a few pictures because i'm dyslexic )

Cheers
Si

A photo of what you have got would be really helpful and save so much time and guesswork.

The bracket for our clutch slave was especially made up for the job. The bracket is then bolted onto the bell housing - there are plenty of bolt holes into which studding can go to hold things on.

Slave Cylinder Mounting

Hi Sparticus

I had the same head scratching question. I just bought some angle iron (slave cylindar mounted 90 degrees to the bellhousing face) and cut it with a hacksaw to fit behind the bellhousing, secured to the bellhousing using the bell housing bolts (needed the odd spacer washer).

Was not very difficult to do but I have not tested it yet. The only problem I did have was squeesing the bracket and slave into the chassis as the assembly stuck out the side of the engine/gearbox further than the chassis would allow so I had to remount it a little and cut back some of the sheet steel of the chassis (not structural). This was a pilgrim so this may not be a problem on some other cars. Sorry I don't have a picture available but could get one to you if you need it.

All the best

John

Slave Cylinder Mounting

Sorry, to clarify, NOT behind the bellhousing, the bracket is mounted using two bolts holding the bellhousting to the block behind the rim of the bellhousing.....

And I am equally desperate to try to work out WTF those bits are for!

All I can say for sure is that your slave needs to push from the engine side.

Think I will call "surrender" on what that steel brakcet is meant to be.
