Fuel CAP wing recess dimensions

Hi,
I am trying to change the fuel tank setup on my DAX.
One of the points that I like to change is the fuel cap location.
I like to put on top of the wheel box with the nice recess.

Can you please give me the dimensions of the recess?
Top diameter.
Bottom diameter
Height
Location?
I will try to laminate one my self.

Thanks for your help.
Regards,
Cobra289

Hi,

Havn't got the dimensions to hand, but Dax do sell the fibre glass recess to fit yourself for 10. Might be easier in the long run, but I do know of several people who have had sucessful results in using a cut down plastic flower pot!

Hi Mark,

Thanks for the advise.
I don't know if the DAX will fit my design, The location is very important for me, the hose will run inside the wheel box, what I mean is that the the fuel tank inlet tube will run against the rear of the wheel box.

I need to know the DAX location so that I can decide how to do it.
Regards,

I think you will find there is plenty of scope to de able to fit it where ever you like. I believe it is fitted by fixing it from the underside with P38 or is that P40 then cut out the hole hole as suits the positioning . HTH

I don't know what means P38 or P40, is that a polyester glue or epoxy glue?

Anyway I will check with the Benelux importer and see if he has the part.
Does it have all ready the round shape of the wheel box?
The car is all ready painted so I need to work with care to have a minimum paint rework.

Thanks!

It is chop strand fibre glass which is a 2 part mix you can get it from Halford's or any motorist shop.
