Sierra steering column bearings

Sorry if this is a stupid question, but before I go and scrap my donor sierra steering column.....

I know the triangular bush 2/3rds of the way down the column itself shouldn't be touched, but what about changing the upper and lower bearings on the outer column? Can they safely be removed and changed for new? Haynes manual doesn't mention these parts which makes me a little uneasy...

PS I have tried the search but given up after looking at several dozen or more..

Thanks in advance chaps

Hi Keith

The bearings can be changed with no problem at all

If you have Ford Sierra 1982 - 1993 Haynes manual there is a diagram on page 261 showing how the bearings are fitted

Cheers

Warren
