Question

I followed a similar thread about 4 years ago and decided, on balance, to use silicone fluid. Been in the system for just over 2 years, not noticed any problems yet. Should I be worried?

Not unless you need a respray/repair Stan! When I took mine for paint, The bodyshop was having major problems with a TR3 that had DOT5 silicon fluid installed! in so much as it atomises out of the master cylinder vent on the return pedal stroke. And any areas of the body within reach of said mist were impossible to paint!!

Yes but only if its needed, my car runs happily on unleaded, I wouldnt buy avgas for it.

DOT4 in good condition wont boil with any kind of road use, and at about £3 a litre you could change it 6 times over for the same money.
