Smile Sierra rear hub nuts ?

Hi, I own a Sumo Mk 111 with sierra rear diff & drum brakes. The hub nuts on mine are right hand thread on drivers side & left hand thread on passenger side, is this correct ? Can they be fitted on the wrong side ? I thought the left hand thread should be on the driver side & visa versa ? Regards Phil.

Hi Phil.
IMHO the nuts do up the direction the wheel spins -if you stand at the rear of the car looking forward, the right hand side should do up conventionally, (RH thread) and the left hand side should do up with a LH thread. This is the way knock-on wheels work so I presume hub nuts should be the same. If you fit them the other way around you may find at some point you will hear a large crunch and see your ex-wheel bounding past you! Exciting times!

Graham

Hi Graham, thanks for that, they are correct then. I thought they would be the other way round but wasn't sure. Regards Phil.
