yup thats what Im saying, there is a little baffle at the end about a foot long, but the rest is stuffed with (I know I said wire wool)... fibreglass stuff rolled with chicken wire (take that out after the sva).

What engine do you have fitted - that must be very loud !!!!

I have just re-done my baffles with the spirral type ones which are straight through (not squashed pilgrim ones anymore) and they are loud enough !!!!

The spirral stuff is quite loud but you can not get the pilgrim pipes any quieter, not with restricting the flow. You have fitted the baffles so that the cup shaped ears face into the gas flow to catch the gas?

I can't help thinking that just having wool and no pipe at all would actually be quite bad in terms of gas flow. I guess if this is just for the SVA then that's OK but I wouldn't fancy going for a long trip with totally hollow pipes. Each to their own. I guess.

Pete

If the sidepipes are full of fibreglass wool and chicken wire it should be quiet as a mouse.

It won't breath very well but it should get pass the SVA OK.

I filled my centre baffles up with wool and wire to enable the car to pass the test.
