Wood rim steering wheels

I currently have a black leather motolita wheel in my Cobra, but would like to upgrade to a wooden rim. I don't want to replace the boss, so I need another motolita to match the holes.

There are a lot out there. What I would like to know is what did the original cobras use:

1-- 3 spoke polished ally, dished with holes
2-- 3 spoke polished ally, dished with slots
3-- other?

I know I shouldn't be so lazy and should serf the net, but I have all you bored office workers at my finger tips. Besides, I have to go to work soon and earn my steering wheel money

Regards,
Mark

Looked in Haynes book. All have 3 spoke with a single tapered slot in each spoke, and white dots in the wooden rim - apart from one photo that showed round holes.

Thanks mate. Did the wood look light in colour or dark? Here are the wheels I am looking at:

Well this is the real deal. It all depends how authentic you want it to look.(Subject to the boss fitment)

Thanks Dave,

I have been surfing looking for that! My current wheel looked fine when I was young and eager, but now I'm an old man (43) I want something a little more refined I know some will say its silly wanting a more original look in a cobra with a humping great V12 under the bonnet, but not everyone gets a look under my bonnet and will only see the cockpit.

My current is the motolita, and so I will have to get another to match my current boss. Keeping the old boss really cuts the price down (almost 40%) So I will get one that looks close to the photo you sent above.

Thanks

Regards,
Mark

I've got a 14" wooden Motolita I don't need. Also have a XJ6 mark 1 boss but alternatives are available from Europa.
PM me if you're interested

Also have a wood rimmed motolita for sale. Holes instead of slots and looks brand new.

I know the original used a 16" (am i right?) but I want the look not the actual wheel used on the original cars.
