Propshaft to reardiff bolts ~ Loctite ?

Hi

The four bolts securing the propshaft to the Jag diff keeps getting loose.
I have used new lockwashers but no Loctite.
Are you using Loctite for these bolts ?

I do not know how much torque i have used as my torque wrench
are to large for the space at the diff.

Thanks

Don't use any washers but do use lock nuts.
The ones on my diff are a metal locking type nut. Not he ones with the nylon insert. I guess these have a proper name but I'm not sure what it is.
The nuts on the driveshafs from the diff to the wheels on the jag are the same type.
I just do them up very tight with normal length ring or open ended spanner if thats all you can fit in there.

Haven't had any come loose yet....

Craig.

Also drill through the bolts and use lock wire so they can't come off completely.

you MUST use the genuine Jaguar nuts and bolts for this application. They are a "Non-Preferred" diameter and ordinary nuts and bolts will run the risk of slackening off. If you don't want a propshaft failing and flying through the floor adjacent to your left buttock, use the Jag bolts. I know they are expensive, but worth it!

Good point Clive.

The correct bolts have an un-threaded section that fills the holes in the diff flange and the prop shaft. I was supplied ordinary bolts with my prop shaft but I used bolts supplied by Wards.

Jag is the place to get them from or one of the specialist jag dealers like Ward engineering, SNG Barrett Etc.

Craig.

The correct bolts and nuts are not that expensive from a Jag Main Dealer 0.83p and 0.35p respectively when I bought mine

Thank You all for Your replies.

The bolts seems to be the original but the nuts are not.
I'll buy new ones.
