Pertronix Ignitor

I have a Mallory Duel point dissy, I'm running it on one set of points as recommended when fitted with an MSD 6AL.

Question is, as it's been trouble free for 6yrs and 12.000 miles, the points are still like new and no problems with condensers burning out, is it worth changing to a Pertronix Igniter 2, will there be any advantages. or am I in winter mode where I just want to spend some cash for spendings sake.

Mike, I think you may have answered your own question mate.

The thought of you spending cash for spendings sake does not sit well with me.......have you seen a doctor?

No point (haha) in that swap whatsoever, unless you are trying to get to a "period correct" look, and your distributor is in the wrong place for that anyway.

Unlikely to be any point at all. I only changed to a Pertronix because of the failing condensor problem which reached stupid proportions.

No problem to date with the Pertronix.
